Recipe #6: Baked Eggplant

After reading an recipe about eggplants I though "What could I do?"
I love dishes baked with cheese and this was really good!

What you need per person:
1 eggplant
70g minced meat
1/4 onion
1-2 garlic cloves
50g couscous
1 can chopped tomatoes
cheese
herbs/spice

Start with the couscous. You'll need ~100ml boiling water. Pour it over the couscous, add salt, stir it and leave it like this for about 10 minutes. While waiting prepare the other things. Cut the eggplant in half and scratch out inside of it until about 1cm is left. Chop the onion and the garlic and put it into a fry pan, fry it for about 1~2 minutes. Add the meat. Fry it until there's no raw meat left.
Put half of the tomato can in one bow, the other half in another. Add the meat to one bowl and mix it with the tomatoes. Add herbs, salt, pepper, spice and whatever else. Do the same with the couscous. Put it into the other bowl and also mix it with the tomatoes.
Now fill the eggplants. One should be filled with the meat-tomato mix. The other one should be filled with the couscous mix.
Before baking it in the oven add the cheese and now leave it in the fan oven for ~20min with 180°C.

I hope you like the recipe. It's nothing special but so delicious!

My favorite: fall/winter

I want to start a new tag on this blog called "my favorite". There I'll present you my favorite clothing or accessory for the season.

Today it's gonna be for fall and winter.
It's my new Liz Lisa scarf.

 without flash

 with flash

 details

It's a huge scarf and a bow you can put the scarf through so it's closed. You can also wear it around you shoulders as a stole. It's very warm and I love the color that fits everything. The details like the lace and the Liz Lisa writing is also so cute. Since it was from the new collection that came out when I have been to Osaka it's a bit expensive. I paid ~40€ for it but it's worth it. ♥
For warmer days in fall you can wear it instead of a coat, using it as a stole. And for winter it'll be a warm and cozy scarf.

Outfit post

With Tara I have been to a new mall they built here. There are so many shops, cheap ones but also higher brands that are so expensive. I really like that place. Also it was not as crowded and busy as downtown. They have a great makeup shop I'll buy something at next time. And they have "The Body Shop" where I thought I'd buy a chocolate body butter. Since it was quite expensive I decided not to but I maybe will when I go there again.

This is how I looked like that day

Head bow: axes femme
Blouse: offbrand
Dress: axes femme
Skirtpants: axes femme

As you can see I'm really in love with axes femme. It's so doll like and cute though more mature than Liz Lisa I think. I want to buy more from them as soon as I have the money for it.

Recipe #5: Japanese Styled Pumpkin

This recipe is something I learned in Japan. You can use pumpkin, winter squash or like I did: kuri squash. We cooked it quite often there since we had a lot of pumpkin.

What you need for 2-3 persons:
1 kuri squash
2 carrots
~300ml water
2 tsp. Dashi powder
3 tbsp. Mirin
5 tbsp. Soy sauce

Cut the kuri squash and the carrots. Put them in a cooking pot and add water. I'm not sure about the right mix. You should taste the soup after adding dashi and the other stuff. It should be spicy and a bit salty. Now cook everything together for ~15minutes. Use a tooth pick to try if it's done. It should be soft and the tooth pick should go right through it.

Ready to serve!

I ate it with kumato tomatoes, rice and soy steak with tonkatsu sauce.
When I made it I cooked it a bit longer. So I could even eat the soup as pumpkin soup afterwards. It was really good!

Since it's a perfect dish for fall please try it out!

Review #5: Dresslink Order

Some more stuff from Dresslink arrived. So I wanted to write a review again. This time it's not as positive as the first time.

There are some things I ordered.
A blouse, a dress, short pants and overknee socks

It took quite a while to arrive ~2-3 weeks. But it's okay since I cose the cheapest shipping which is always very slow.

I'll start with the socks. I chose the white ones.

I paid $2,37 for them which is really cheap. The quality is good. They are thick and strechy. Anyway they are quite small. Since I have long legs they are overknees but they are short. They end about 1-2cm above the knee. Still I like them and for that price it was good!

This is the blouse. I ordered it in apricot. It's a nice, light beige color. You can't really see it on the photo. I tried to edit it but it looks a bit too red. I paid $8,60 for it. I was really afraid the sleeves might not fit since I'm very tall and so the sleeves from Asian clothes are often too short for me. Not this time. They are very long and fit perfect. Also the quality is quite okay for that price. You can't see through and it's not that shiny as on the photo.

You can see the inside here. So the sewing isn't done neatly but okay.

And this is the bow in the front. It looks so cute and I'm sure the blouse will fit my axes femme stuff perfect!

Next one is the short pants. I'm glad I ordered it in a bigger size than I actually need since it's so short otherwise. I like the way it's done although the length of the crotch is so small.

Last and least: the dress. On their site it looked really good. As if you could now see through and also the skirt looks quite fluffy. I paid $8.99 for this:

You can look right through it. The fabric is cheap, the sleeves are very short and the skirt...

I don't think it needs any words. It's just ugly. The quality is so bad. The skirt underneath is also nearly transparent. It's not cut straight... I'm a bit sad about it. I really looked forward for getting that dress.

This is the belt that came with the dress. This is something I can use for sure! So the order of the dress wasn't completely useless. Maybe I can change a bit about the dress so it looks better. I don't know yet.

Still I would try Dresslink again and I already did. I ordered a bag. I didn't get it yet though.

Recipe #4: Vegan Gyro

Finally there comes a new recipe: Vegan Gyro. I tried it out for the first time and it was so good!

I made it with some special "vegan meat". I got it here. But it's German only.

This is what I used

What you need for 2 persons:
100g vegan meat
1 red pepper
1/2- 1 onion
garlic
herbs/spice
chili oil
If you want to need real meat it's also no problem. But you have to choose the amount of meat yourself.

Put the vegan meat into boiling water for about ten minutes. Use a big bowl since it becomes twice the size it was before. Squeeze the water out afterwards as good as possible. Put it into a big bowl.
Cut the onion, red pepper and garlic and add it to the meat. Add some oil (2-3tbsp.) to the mix and also the spice. I used a special gyro mix my mum made for me so I can't exactly say whats inside. Next to it I used some chili, more garlic, pepper and salt of course.
Stir it well and wait for 1-2 hours. Stir every 30 minutes.

It should look like this. If it's done put it in a big fry pan or cooking pot and fry it until everything is slightly brown. I also added a bit tomato paste for the color.
After ~10-15 minutes it was ready to eat.

Ready to serve!
I ate it with rice which was quite good together. But some yogurt would also be perfect. Or maybe both?
Try it the way you like. Tell me about it when you did.

Frankfurt Bookfair 2013

I promised to show you photos of my cosplay. So here they are. And also some impressions of the bookfair. It was so cold but anyway it was nice. There were so many people with amazing costumes. But I didn't take too many photos. Anyway... here they are:

 Make up shot

And this was Tara's costume. She looked so cute!
It's Ayase Yukiya from Okane ga nai

And the bookfair photos:

 With another san.

 Kaito Kid from Detective Conan

 Mulan

 Meg from Hercules and Rapunzel

Malon from The Legend of Zelda

 Three types of Link

And Dark Link

I hoped there were more Ghibli cosplayers but I saw like nobody. Only the other San but I checked other photos and there also was Chihiro and Kohaku. But I didn't see them there.

However I hope you like the photos. I wish I could go to the bookfair in 2014 but I don't think it'll be possible. But maybe Cosday in June next year.

Review #4: la farfa [ラ・ファーファ] Vol. 2

So here's the second volume of "la farfa", a oversize fashion magazine. It was released in spring/summer so everything is made for that time of the year. There's no new volume annouced yet but I'm really looking forward to reading it.

So what exactly does the magazine provide?
Photos, coordinates, hair makes, make up and a huge special with yukata and bikini

How much does it cost?
630Yen

How many pages does the magazine have?
96 pages

What about the content?

 Spring/summer coordinates

 Fashion sorted by pants style

And more coordinates. How you can mix a few clothes for everyday's styling

 Make up help

 Make up and hair styles

How to style up for different kinds of fashion types: casual, girly, gyaru, natural

 Huge bikini special!

More hair make for biki and also for yukata fashion

 Yukata special

 Snap shots

 Underwear special

What do you think about the magazine in the end?
It's much better than the first volume. There's more information, more tipps, more help, more photos and more different styles. It's really nice how they improved! I really enjoyed reading it. It's very helpful and will give so many advise to people who think they can't dress fashionable.
Any negative points?
Yes. Still there's this skinny model ad in the magazine which is so annoying.

Recipe, Cosplay & Review #3: Dresslink-Order

So I wanted to make Gulash on the day I wrote the last post. I put the meat from the freezer in the refridgerator for defrosting. But the meat was already bad... But we already prepared chili, onions and garlic so I decided to make a chili again and I took some photos. Since I already wrote an entry about chili I just updated it. You can find it here.

Today I want to show you my cosplay progress. I'm 90% done.
Just my mask is still missing since I ordered stuff to finish it but it didn't arrive yet. It's so annoying. I hope it'll come today so I can finally complete the cosplay.

My clothes: dress, shirt, coat, shoes, hood

And the accessory: knife, earrings, necklace

I'm really proud it came out like this. I'm not very talented in this kind of things so...
But: I did it. So now I only have to cut the wig and do the final steps on the mask. Then I'm done.
Of course I'll show you photos then.

Finally after a while waiting my order from Dresslink.com arrived.
This is what I ordered: bracelet
On their homepage it looked like this:

It was in a soft envelope and got no damage during shipping. So it looked like this when it arrived:

With flash

Without flash

I paid $2,68 for the bracelet itself and $0,86 for the slowest shipping without tracking.
They sent it on 26th September so it took two weeks to arrive.

As you can expect the quality isn't that good. But it's okay for the price I paid. I'm quite satisfied with it and I'd buy it again for now. Let's see how it'll be after some days of wearing it. I hope it won't become green too fast.

I ordered some more stuff that should arrive within 1-2 weeks. So I'm really looking forward to get it.

Thank you for reading!
